If you’re trying to keep up the good work after Plastic-Free July, we’ve got some great ideas on our blog this month with 10 simple swaps that will green up your bathroom routine in no time.
1 - Buy him an indoor plant.
Plants have a positive effect on the environment and will green up Dad’s working space. Try aloe vera, which removes chemicals from the air, mother-in-law’s tongue or peace lilies, for their air-purifying properties, or ferns, which help increase air humidity.
2 - Get him a re-usable mug or water bottle.
If your Dad is a coffee lover, buy him a durable stainless steel or glass reusable mug. If he likes to exercise, a reusable water bottle will save him money and help save the planet at the same time.
3 - Make him a card.
Millions of tonnes of greeting cards and wrapping paper end up in landfill every year, so to show Dad you care, make him a card or buy one that’s recyclable and made with recycled or sustainably sourced paper.
4 - Treat him to an environmentally friendly tipple.
There’s a huge range of sustainable craft beers and wines on the market currently, so why not treat Dad to a case of his favourite drinks? Mountain Goat, Stone & Wood and 4 Pines are breweries that are committed to protecting the environment and giving back to the community. Tamburlaine in the Hunter Valley produces sustainable, organic and vegan-friendly wines.
5 - Give him a traditional razor.
If he’s shaving with disposable razors, invest in an old-school traditional safety razor. They’re super stylish, look great in the bathroom and will last a lifetime.
